Laura is one of Evergreen Pug Rescue’s co-founders and serves as our Director, bringing both heart and strategy to everything we do. A proud pug mom to Pedro and Myrtle, she knows firsthand the joy (and occasional mischief!) that curly-tailed companions bring into a home.
With a strong business sense and a sharp eye for detail, Laura helps guide the rescue with sustainability, transparency, and growth in mind. Her leadership ensures Evergreen stays true to its mission while building a foundation that can support pugs and their people for years to come.
Behind every adoption, fundraiser, and big decision, Laura’s dedication helps keep Evergreen moving forward—always with the pugs at the center.

Hi, I’m Shannon! I’m thrilled to proudly support Evergreen Pug Rescue as Medical Director. With many years of experience in the veterinary field, I’m passionate about ensuring every pug in our care receives the very best medical attention. My guidance has been part of Evergreen’s DNA since the start, even if I wasn’t always in the spotlight, and I continue to champion the importance of responsible rescue in everything we do.
At home, life is joyfully full (and sometimes delightfully chaotic!). My husband and I share our lives with our daughter, six pugs, three cats, and even a duck. They keep me laughing, grounded, and constantly reminded of why this work means so much to me.
For me, this isn’t just a role—it’s a calling. Combining my veterinary background with my passion for responsible rescue allows me to advocate for pugs in need and walk alongside them on their journey to health and happiness.

Hi, I’m Heather! Pugs have been part of my life since childhood, starting with four family pugs outside Spokane.
In 2020, I dove into pug rescue, gaining experience, friendships, and a passion for helping pugs in need. Now, I’m combining my engineering background and love of the sciences with my love for rescue to make a bigger impact.
At home, my husband and my two children enjoy Hope, a liver shunt warrior pug, and Boomer, a Boston terrier.
We just welcomed a new little pug into our home. Taking naming suggestions.

Jacob Hunter (he/him) is a tax professional who’s all about making taxes less intimidating, especially for those who’ve been systemically disempowered. With a sharp eye for detail and a focus on fairness, he helps clients navigate financial challenges with confidence.
Outside of work, he’s a distance runner and pug enthusiast, believing life is better with a little patience — and a few extra snacks.
Adoption Coordinator
Danielle is a proud senior chiweenie enthusiast who knows that wisdom (and whiskers) only get better with age. By day, she works in human medicine, bringing compassion and care to her patients. But when the scrubs come off, the cape goes on—Danielle transforms into a pug-rescue-adoption hero.
She doesn’t just stop at one cause—Danielle opens her home and her heart by fostering for multiple rescues, giving countless dogs the chance to heal, learn, and find their forever families. Her passion bridges both worlds: healing humans and giving dogs a second chance.
Central Washington Foster Coordinator
Stormi is the heart and soul of the 509. She understands small towns, farm land, and everything that comes with them—the grit, the heart, and the way neighbors show up for one another. As Evergreen’s Central Washington Coordinator, she brings that same spirit of community to every pug and family she helps.
From dusty backroads to wide-open fields, Stormi knows how to bridge the gap between rural living and rescue work. Whether she’s organizing a transport, connecting fosters, or celebrating an adoption, her deep roots and big heart make her a trusted guide for pugs and the people who love them.
Stormi embodies what Evergreen is all about—kindness, connection, and a commitment to giving every pug a chance to thrive.
Sound Sound Counties Foster Coordinator
Amy is thrilled to join Evergreen Pug Rescue as a Foster Coordinator, bringing with her valuable experience from her time at the humane society—where she first discovered her passion for rescue work. By day, she works in healthcare, advocating for patients with the same dedication and compassion she shows for animals.
Her heart was forever shaped by Bob, her beloved pug who was rescued from a heartbreaking situation and spent 16 wonderful years by her side. Though Bob has since crossed the rainbow bridge, his legacy lives on in Amy’s commitment to helping pugs and pug mixes find love and security. In time, she’s confident Bob will guide her toward opening her home to another pug, handpicked by him from the other side.
Outside of rescue, Amy can be found flexing her skills at pub trivia, attending horror movie conventions, tending to her uniquely “goth” garden, or enjoying a bit of casual birdwatching. With heart, humor, and a lifetime of pug devotion, she’s ready to help pugs find their perfect humans.
