Chip is a bright, affectionate, and expressive pug who’s ready to start his next chapter. He came to Evergreen Pug Rescue after his owner had to move and couldn’t take him along. Before that, Chip lived a very pampered life — eating people food, calling the shots, and rarely hearing the word “no.” By the time he joined us, he was a 30-pound bundle of love and opinions who needed a little structure, guidance, and care.
With help from our veterinary team and his dedicated foster family, Chip has come a long way. He’s now a healthy 27 pounds, fully vetted, and feeling great. He loves car rides, “helping” in the kitchen, and being near his people. Chip is smart, funny, and full of personality — the kind of dog who makes you laugh every single day.
He’s also still learning. Chip can be resistant when asked to do something he’s unsure about (like putting on his harness), and when he feels uncomfortable, he may nip to express himself. He’s not aggressive — he just needs patience, structure, and calm leadership from someone who understands pugs with a little extra personality. Since settling into foster care, Chip has made wonderful progress and continues to grow in confidence and trust.
Chip gets along well with other dogs, is cat-approved, and enjoys being around people. Because he’s still working on handling moments of uncertainty, we’re seeking a home with no children under 12 to ensure everyone’s comfort and success.
This birthday boy has come so far — from an overindulged couch king who lived on people food to a healthy, happy pug ready for his forever home. If you’re looking for a companion who’s smart, loving, and full of character, Chip just might be your guy.
