Hi! My Name Is Harold
I'm Available
Harold is a really fun and sweet boy with some bad habits. At baseline, he is a complete love. However it does seem like his past wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, and he has some behaviors we are working through.
And honestly? Harold is SUCH a friendly boy. He likes people, does great with other dogs, and genuinely wants to be social and connected. There’s a really happy, sweet dog in there.
But it’s also become clear that touch was not always something Harold knew as kind or safe.
Because of that, he has triggers—especially around his neck—and when he feels uncomfortable, he’ll growl, lunge, or try to create space. Not because he’s mean, but because at some point in his life, he learned he needed to protect himself.
The good news? That life is behind him now.
Harold is in a trainer foster home where he’s working on trust, desensitization, and learning that affection and touch can be safe. It’s going to take patience, time, and the right adopter—someone experienced or excited to work alongside a trainer and willing to meet him where he’s at. Because of his triggers, we’ll also be looking for a home with kids 13+.
Sometimes rescue is more than medical care. Sometimes rescue means helping a dog learn that the world can be safe again—and making sure dogs like Harold get that chance, too. While it may be some work, we know Harold is worth it and his love is the best reward.
