Waverly is a happy little pug who loves being part of the action. Whether she’s exploring the yard, hanging out with other dogs, following her people around the house, or curled up on the couch for cuddle time, Waverly is simply a joy to have around. She’s incredibly friendly, affectionate, and has clearly been very loved throughout her life.
Waverly recently had her dental procedure and nares surgery completed, along with full bloodwork — and everything looked great. She will also need the typical daily eye drops many pugs require to help keep her eyes healthy and comfortable long-term.
Like many pugs, Waverly’s biggest ongoing challenge right now is her weight. She is currently too overweight to safely be evaluated for or undergo possible soft palate surgery. The good news is that healthy weight loss alone can make a huge difference in breathing, comfort, mobility, and overall quality of life for dogs like Waverly — and in some cases, surgery may ultimately not even be necessary.
Because of her ongoing medical needs, Waverly must be adopted within the greater Seattle area. Her future family must be willing to continue her weight loss journey and travel to our primary veterinary clinic in Bellevue, Washington for follow-up appointments related to her care and possible future evaluation.
Waverly will be adopted with a medical addendum related to possible future soft palate surgery should it ultimately be recommended after weight loss and re-evaluation.
Waverly is looking for a family willing to love her through the process — one that sees beyond the extra pounds and recognizes the incredibly sweet, social, lovable pug underneath.
