I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Shelton

We're happy to tell you that Shelton has a new furever home.

Shelton’s rescue story began alongside his sister, Stefani, after the two were spotted running loose along a country road in Lamont, California. After disappearing into nearby grape fields, rescuers feared the worst — until, incredibly, they were found and brought to safety.

When Shelton first entered rescue, he was suffering from demodex mange, yeast infections, fleas, and malnourishment. Rescued on April 16, 2025, Shelton received months of medical care, proper nutrition, and patience thanks to the incredible dedication of The Pug Queen Foundation.

Today, Shelton is healthy, handsome, and quietly charming in the most endearing way.

Unlike his more playful sister, Shelton is a bit of an old soul. He enjoys running and playing with the other dogs, especially the boys, but he’s equally content curling up beside calmer, older pugs or finding a quiet place to relax on his own. He has a gentle, thoughtful personality that makes him feel wise beyond his age.

Shelton is affectionate without being demanding and has a calm, steady presence about him. He craves love and acceptance just as deeply as any rescue dog does, but there’s something beautifully understated about the way he seeks it — often simply wanting to be nearby, included, and safe.

While he gets along wonderfully with other dogs, Shelton also has the kind of personality that could thrive as an only dog with the right family. He’s simply a very good boy looking for the soft landing he’s always deserved.

Some of Shelton’s veterinary records estimate his age closer to 4 years old. After being dumped, Shelton unfortunately refused to tell us his real age, so we’ve had to rely on experienced rescue assessment instead. Based upon the extensive time spent with him by The Pug Queen Foundation, along with his personality, energy level, and overall presentation, we strongly believe Shelton is much closer to 2 years old.
