Stefani’s story started on the side of a rural country road in Lamont, California — scared, abandoned, and running loose with her brother, Shelton. By the time rescuers were finally able to get them to safety, both puppies were battling demodex mange, yeast infections, fleas, and severe malnourishment.
Rescued on April 16, 2025, Stefani was given the second chance every dog deserves thanks to the dedication of The Pug Queen Foundation. From coordinating her rescue to ensuring she received extensive medical care and months of recovery, they never gave up on her — even when her future felt uncertain.
Today, Stefani has blossomed into a playful, affectionate young pug who absolutely adores being loved. She is the kind of dog who wants to be close — curled up beside you on the couch, snuggled in your arms, or happily following her people from room to room. She’s sensitive, sweet, and thrives on affection and reassurance.
Stefani also loves other dogs and especially enjoys playing with younger pups and her “girl squad.” While she arrived in rescue with her littermate Shelton, the two are not considered bonded and have developed very different personalities. Stefani is happiest when she has loving companionship, soft places to nap, and a family who understands that after a difficult beginning, she’s simply making up for all the love she missed as a puppy.
Some of Stefani’s veterinary records estimate her age closer to 4 years old. After being dumped, Stefani unfortunately refused to tell us her real age, so we rely on experienced rescue assessment instead. Based upon the extensive time spent with her by The Pug Queen Foundation, along with her behavior, energy level, and overall presentation, we strongly believe Stefani is much closer to 2 years old.
